My life had a plan. Until he invaded it and stole it all away. My captor took me and I became a pawn.

His strategy changed and he sent me away to WAR, because money is everything in this world.

In my WAR, though, I found peace.

I couldn’t help but find love where I least expected it, with a man who lived a battle every day of his life
…all inside his head.

But then my captor came back for me.
Yet, this time, battle lines had been drawn and I was protected.

So we thought.
Even though my WAR was raging,
my captor would fight to the death.

The good guys always win, right?
Not always.

All’s fair in love and WAR, right?
Not this time.

***WARNING***
This is War, Baby is a dark romance. A really dark one. So dark you’re going to wish you had a flashlight to see yourself to the end and someone to hold your hand. Human trafficking, dubious consent, and strong sexual themes that could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.

Stacia says…

I’m not even sure where to begin with this review. I guess I will start off by saying that the warning the author placed in this book, should not be taken lightly! In case you didn’t see it, here it is:

This book is definitely dark and I would even say brutal at times. I’ve read some dark books, but parts of this one really made me cringe.  However, as there is always light at the end of a dark tunnel, this book also has some light parts that are very moving.

It’s hard to write a review for This is War, Baby because saying too much could easily spoil parts of the story.  So, I’m going to leave this review pretty generic and not even go into the storyline.

“She revives dead parts of me.
She’s the sun, water, and earth. And I’m a seed that has hope to grow into something strong and beautiful. Because of her.”

I will say that I think the author really went for it with the darkness in this book. Which I’m sure is hard, not only for an author to write, but to put yourself in that dark place to really give the storyline the substance it needed.

I understand that the 2nd half of the book had to be extremely different, based on the direction of the story. But I do think it was almost too much of an extreme change.

The plot of this book was very intriguing and completely held my interest! I definitely recommend this book for any of those “dark read” fans out there! You won’t be able to put it down and you won’t be disappointed!

I will warn you– this book ends in a cliffhanger (yes I know- cliffhangers can be awful and it sucks waiting for the next book), BUT the next and final book is set to release on March 29th- so you don’t have too long to wait for the conclusion to this story!
