Casey Says…..

It is no secret that I LOVE Kristen Ashley, she is hands down my favorite author in the universe, and I have yet to read something by her that I did not enjoy. Fire Inside was no exception- while it was not an over the top favorite of mine as most of her books are, it was still fantastic and a definite recommendation for anyone who loves a dirty talking, MC badass.

I went in with a visual of Hopper Kincaid that was old and washed up- where this formed in my head, I have no idea (I am guessing Motorcycle Man where he was first introduced) and I did not expect to care for this book to much, if at all. Boy, was I wrong- Hop is super WOAH, and he can turn on the sweet that will melt panties right off.  While he is aggressive and straight- forward, he is also a caring and protective father and that bleeds over to his relationship with our heroine.

”You mean somethin’ to me in a way, for a man, he wants the world to know it. I’m proud you’re on my arm in my bed and I want to share that with my family. Don’t keep takin’ that away from me.”

Oh and did I mention he is a dirty talker, well it’s worth repeating…………………:::SWOON:::

“You’re very arrogant, Hopper Kincaid.” “Yeah, well, man gets that way when a woman that looks like you comes as hard as I can make you come.”

We first met Lanie in Motorcycle Man, where she was introduced to us as Tyra’s best friend. Fast forward 7/8 years and she is back on the scene still healing from losing her fiancé and setting off a chain of events that put both her and Tyra’s life in ultimate danger.  After a one night agreement of hot sex, Hop finds that he wants more. He sees the inner turmoil she is fighting after the tragedy she went through and he wants to be the one to save her.

“You’re right. I’m shit scared of taking the risk of feeling the fullness of how much I love you.”

This is what I love most about KA- she writes highly entertaining, happy stories with super sexy guys and likable heroines.  Her stories make me laugh, swoon, scream and burn. It would be a total five star read for me, but in comparison to her other work, it just feel slightly short.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
