From USA Today bestselling author Lisa Desrochers comes the third book in her sizzling new adult series. If you play with fire …Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming. Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

When I first started reading this book I got a little nervous because I was worried it was gonna be the typical exotic dancer meets millionaire and they fall in insta-love (blech) type of story.  Holy hell, this book threw a wrench into that theory of mine pretty quickly and it became a book that packed quite the punch.

You may remember Sam as Lexie’s best friend from A Little Too Far.  Sam is down on her luck from the beginning of the book. She has just gotten fired from the pharmacy she was working at, is still hung up on Trent, is homeless and has just flunked out of college.  Thankfully, her friend Jonathon allows her to crash on his couch as well as hook her up with a job.  Unfortunately, the job is a dancer (who doesn’t have to remove her clothes, but still…) at Benny’s but the pay is fantastic and she needs to be able to save up for her own apartment.  During her first dance, she locks eyes with a smoking hottie who reminds her of Trent.  When she is told she has been requested for a VIP session…guess who it is?  Ding ding, yep, the smoking southern hottie aptly named Harrison. That is where I stop with the plot…you wanna be surprised, right?

The sexual tension between Sam and Harrison was beyond scorching. Harrison was trying so hard to be the good guy and you could tell his restraint was killing Sam.  Hell, it was killing me just reading it.  I really enjoyed Sam’s character. She might have not made some of the best choices but you know that she was caring, really cherished her friendships, and possibly was a tad too trusting.  I’m glad that she finally made amends with her parents.  I think she matured emotionally through the book, and I think that was all due to Harrison.  He helped her get her life back on track and find what path she needs to be on. Sam also helped Harrison out as well.  He was stuck in a job that he despised out of guilt and revenge.  It took his situation with Sam to figure out what he really wants out of life. Harrison was a great hero…he was just yummy in every possible way.

I only have one complaint for this book, where was the epilogue?  I am an epilogue-whore and was a bit bummed that we didn’t get one.  All in all, I really enjoyed this book, to be honest, it may be my favorite of Lisa’s.

Leary says…

I read A Little Too Far over Christmas break and was completely hooked. I was a little hesitant to read A Little Too Hot because I was super annoyed with Sam in A Little Too Far. Once Alexis started reading this book she told me I needed to start it right away and that I would love it..so I did, and she was right! I LOVED the book and got over my complete annoyance of Sam.

The attraction that Sam and Harrison had was so unbelievably hot..seriously, I’m surprised my kindle screen wasn’t sweating!! The story turned out to be something I did not expect but I wouldn’t change a thing. Okay, maybe one thing..I agree with Alexis, where was the epilogue?!

If you haven’t read the series then you definitely need to pick it up! I loved Sam’s story and really want more!
