My childhood was perfect. I’ve led a charmed life, and I’m not going to blow it now by picking the wrong guy. I’ve got my sights set on my brother’s best friend. He’s known my family for years. He’s reliable and kind and handsome. Sure, he’s been avoiding me since I was six. I’m a bit aggressive for him, maybe.
But he’s the one… right?
I liked Wrong by Jana Aston. But, Right is seriously one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read in a bit. I read this book in one day, which is a hard feat. I seriously did not want to put it down and I know it’s all because of Everly.
Everly has her life planned out. She is going to marry her older brother’s best friend, Finn Camden. Since the age of six she’s planned out how she is going to woo him and make him fall in love with her. From lying about liking football, to “Legally Blonde-ing” herself into getting into Penn, her road to making Finn fall in love with her is hysterical. At every overture he turns her down, but she just will not take no for an answer.
“Any man worthy of you would work for it, Everly. Not sit by passively while you did all”
During one of her schemes, she ends up meeting someone different. Someone who is NOT Finn.
“It’s okay to rewrite your happily ever after, Everly. Sometimes the right guy is the one you never see coming.“
This someone is named Sawyer and he is the RIGHT person for Everly. Where Everly has always been the aggressor in relationships, he is even more so. He starts to pursue her and will not give up.
“All I want is to be somebody to you.”
Of course, she does not want to fall for Sawyer as he is not who she has been planning to marry for most of her life. But little by little, Sawyer starts to make his way into her heart. He accepts that she is bit off-kilter (read: crazy) and actually finds it a wonderful quality of hers. Since he is just like Everly, they complement each other so well that you know these two are literally made for each other. Their chemistry is also off the charts hot! Jana Aston writes some seriously HOT stuff. Her failed attempt for a birthday present was awesome and hysterical.
This book had me laughing out loud so many times I lost count. Everly is seriously hysterical. Between her obsession with nail polish, Pinterest, and “helping” people, I just couldn’t get enough of her. She truly cares for the people around her but maybe just goes about it in a more outlandish way?! Though she had her life planned out to the smallest details…life sometimes throws you curve balls and doesn’t end up the way you think it should. It ends up better.
Lastly, I will admit that I was a bit confused at the beginning of the book. But once I finally understood what the heck was going on, it make sense and I actually love the way the author wrote it. You don’t have to read Wrong to understand what is going on in this one. This truly can be read as a standalone. I really really REALLY hope that Chloe gets her own book and if so, I hope that Everly plays a part in her finding her own HEA.
