The fabulous New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author returns with a sizzling, funny, and deeply emotional tale of passion and secrets, deception and forgiveness.

A matter of secrets…

Undercover cop Logan “Kash” Ryan can’t afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him

A matter of lies…

Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel’s will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love…

As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel’s heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies … or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

Stacia- As a HUGE Molly McAdams fan, I was of course excited for this book like I am for all of her books. She is a terrific writer of romantic novels! I was then pleasantly surprised when this book was more of a suspenseful romance.

Tina- I have read 2 of Molly’s other books and needless to say, Forgiving Lies was a far cry from those two books! I think it is great that she took a different path with this book. And to be honest, I haven’t really read a suspenseful romance book in a while! It was definitely a nice change of pace!

Stacia- I definitely agree Tina; suspenseful romance isn’t my normal genre- but I really loved what Molly did with this story.

This book follows Rachel Masters and her best friend Candice, who have just moved from California to Texas to go to college. Moving into a new apartment and trying to put a traumatic experience behind her, Rachel meets new neighbors Logan “Kash” and Mason, who are undercover cops in Texas to try and catch a serial killer. Rachel isn’t in any place to be in a relationship or to fall in love- but neither is Kash. Unfortunately, dangerous forces are at work to keep them apart.

Tina-I loved Rachel right off the bat! She had been through so much in her life, yet she was able to hold herself together and be such a strong and independent woman! She seems like such a great girl; not taking any crap from anyone. And then there is Kash…he has a lip ring and tattoos-need I say more! I fell in love with him right away. A total bad boy on a motorcycle and an undercover cop and completely swoonworthy!

Stacia- I love the friendship that develops between these two- and then it turns into something they can’t fight. SWOON is right!! I loved the mystery, suspense, and humor throughout this book. Of course a sexy, tattoo toting, lip-ring wearing, undercover cop that is wrapped up in one Kash Ryan was an added bonus.

“Rachel, if we do this… I’m all in. I want all of you… need all of you.”

Tina-OMG! I totally agree! Kash and Rachel definitely start out as friends, which is the best way to go in developing that “something more”. They have cute little inside jokes and they just seem like such a great couple! And for a Molly McAdams’ book, this couple definitely pushes the “steamy” boundaries that I love! And they both have had some crappy relationships in the past and you can’t help but cheer for this couple!

I couldn’t help but be nervous though about the fact that Kash was keeping secrets from Rachel and that he as an undercover cop. Keeping secrets is not good in any relationship, especially when the relationship is fresh and even more so considering that Rachel has a hard time trusting people and dropping her “shield.”

“Don’t throw your shield at me. I told you, no shields with us; if something is wrong, I want you to tell me. I can’t help you through whatever is going on if you shut me out.”

Stacia- With all that Rachel had been through and the fact that she was learning to trust Kash, it was hard to know that he was lying to her. Although, we all knew he truly believed the reasons behind it.

“Lying for now meant keeping her safe. And that’s what mattered most.”

Molly McAdams included a lot of things I love about books into one—romance, drama, suspense, friends to lovers and I loved the “little” things that she includes in all her books that make it so special; the sour-patch kids, the pancakes, and of course the songs.

Tina- The Sour Patch kids and the pancakes where beyond adorable and the reference to the song I’ll Be by Edwin McCain is one of my favorites! However, I did feel some disconnect between some of the characters. I hate to say it, but I really hated Candace and I am not sure if Molly wanted us to hate her or not, but I just never liked her. Not to mention the “suspenseful” part of this book just seemed a little confusing. The main villain kinda came out of nowhere and I feel like we were missing out on some background information that would have made the whole plot a little more enjoyable. I liked the action, but I just didn’t fully understand where it all came from.

Stacia- I agree Tina, I don’t think that Candace was a great friend to Rachel. They had been friends since grade-school, but yet she doubted and questioned Rachel on every turn. I also felt like there were a few unanswered questions regarding the “villain” of the book (keeping it spoiler free, I won’t go into details). Perhaps it was left open on purpose and we will get those answers in Deceiving Lies. Warning to readers- this is a cliffhanger and you will want to pick up Deceiving Lies after finishing Forgiving Lies.
