The heartwarming conclusion to What's Left of Me.

Love found me three years ago.

I’m cancer free, happily married to the love of my life, and working toward my dream career.

Our life is complete. Perfect, really.

Or is it?

I’ve always wanted a family of my own, but never dreamed I could have one. Now Parker’s ready to make my dream our reality.

But sometimes our dreams are haunted by our deepest fears. Fears of failure, having a child, and in our case … death. How do I help the person I love get over his fear when I’m still trying to overcome that same fear myself?

Together we must learn What’s Left of Us.

Stacia and Alexis say…

Stacia: What’s Left of Us is the sweet, heartwarming conclusion to the What’s left of Me series. This book is NOT a standalone and shouldn’t be read before picking up book 1- What’s left of Me.

Alexis and I read What’s Left of Me together last year and devoured it in a few hours. We were both so impressed with Amanda Maxlyn’s debut novel and her writing style! Not to mention the book literally gutted us and we weren’t ready for their story to be over. So, of course when we found out she was writing a second book and giving us more of Parker and Aundrea, we were so excited.

“Love illuminates life. There are different kinds of love, and only a select few are fortunate enough to experience every kind.”

This book begins 3 years later and is told in both Aundrea and Parker’s points of view (POV). They are now married and about to celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary. Aundrea is cancer-free, now volunteers at a clinic to support other cancer patients, and is about to graduate college. Parker is still a partner at the veterinarian clinic and he is just as amazing (if not more so) then in the first book… we are talking serious book boyfriend material ladies! He shows his love and support for Aundrea in so many surprising ways; plus getting a chance to be in his head and read his POV- so swoonworthy!
Aundrea and Parker face and battle so many of their fears about life and death and really come full circle together. I really enjoyed this book and I’m glad that we got to really see them live as a couple and experience so many wonderful things together.

“I believe everyone is destined for one soul. My soul was destined to meet Aundrea’s. Our love was made for each other.”

Alexis: I seriously just want Parker all to myself.  I mean, he is beyond my BBF expectations.  I loved hearing his side of the story in this book; in the first book, we only got Aundrea’s side.

Aundrea is now cancer-free but definitely not worry-free.  In What’s Left of Me, she never thought about a future, but now that she is afforded that luxury she is still stuck in the past. The prologue had me freaking out within the first page…I was waiting to see what Amanda had in store for us.

I definitely was not disappointed in this book. I am glad that we got to see how Aundrea and Parker moved on past her cancer.  In the first book, it was Aundrea who was more insecure on what the future held.  But, it was nice to see that Parker also had some of the same fears.  They both had realistic expectations about Aundrea’s health and how it would impact them.

“Aundrea is my life. My eternity. She’s my forever and always.”

Also, these two have the most crazy connection that is sprinkled throughout the book and it’s absolutely Skokie (yes, our Three Girl word for SMOKING HOT)!  Parker and Aundrea also connect on an emotional level and leave the reader feeling like they are absolutely perfect for each other.

I am glad we got to see the happy ending for these two.  Aundrea definitely deserved it for everything she’s been through and Parker, well, he’s just incredible.  I loved all the small details of their “firsts” that were woven into the story.

“There is no life if it’s not a life with you.”

Also, bonus points for quoting Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill, “clothes over bros”!!

About Amanda Maxlyn

I am the mother of two little boys, married to the love of my life, and living in one of the smallest towns in Minnesota. When I’m not chasing or cleaning up after my boys (yes, all three), I can be found writing or snuggled up with my kindle, a glass of wine, and spending time with my fictional friends and family.

I am first and foremost an avid reader! I love to read anything romance from paranormal, young/new adult, contemporary, and even yes, (wide eyes) erotic/BDSM.
