From the NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author of WAIT FOR YOU, this is the story of Cam and Avery’s sizzling romance as you’ve never seen it before, told exclusively from Cam’s perspective…

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up – he can’t get this feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. What will it take to help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery’s life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Stacia says…

This is part of the Wait for You series and although it is a follow-up to the first book, I think that it can be read as a standalone.

Cameron Hamilton (Cam) is the epitome of a swoonworthy book boyfriend. He is sweet, funny, and sexy as hell, plus he bakes, and he is a great friend. I fell in love with him in Wait for You and for anyone that lusted after Cam and his cookies in Wait for You, this book is exactly what you need and want.

“I’m a shallow, shallow boy. Hey, it helps that you’re pretty. It brings out the nice guy in me. Makes me want to share my cookies with you.”
“So if I was ugly you wouldn’t be nice to me?”
“I’d still be nice to you if you were ugly.”
“I just wouldn’t offer you my cookies.”

I absolutely loved how Cam called Avery shortcake in his head- I had hoped for a cute nickname for her and sweetheart just wasn’t cutting it for me in the first book. It was totally like Cam to come up with the perfect nickname for Avery and then to pretty much only refer to her by that nickname in his head.

Fuck, Avery. You think I don’t want you? There’s not a single part of you that I don’t want, you understand? I want to be on you and inside of you. I want you against the wall, on the couch, in your bed, in my bed, and every fucking place I can possibly think of, and trust me, I have a vast imagination when it comes to these kinds of things. Don’t ever doubt that I want you.”

I think for someone that hadn’t read the first book in the series, this book would be fresh and all new, but since I just now read it for the first time recently, a lot of this was repetitive to me. Plus I think that it couldn’t have been shortened into a true novella length and I would have loved to get a few more “new” scenes in this book. But, let’s be real we get to be in Cam’s head and honestly who wouldn’t want to be there, so of course I loved it. I can’t wait to dive into the other books in the series… I think Cam’s best friend Jase and his sister’s story is next!

“You’re a good guy, Cam.”
“No, I’m not. I’m only good with you.”
