Trapped in his tiny mountain cabin, she didn't expect to fall for his big heart.

Exposing a prominent criminal family with an investigative news report didn’t exactly work out the way Sabrina had hoped. Instead of basking in the glory of her article’s success, she’s on the run from a powerful man who wants her dead. To stay safe, she’s forced to trade one bad situation for another. Stuck in the Montana wilderness, she’s secluded from anything resembling civilization or the modern-day world. The only good thing about her situation is the gorgeous mountain man assigned to protect her. Too bad he isn’t the slightest bit interested in a city girl like her.

Beau likes his life quiet and simple. Give him a peaceful day hiking in the woods with his dog, and he’s a happy man. He has no use for large crowds, noisy cities or dramatic women. So when a hotshot reporter rolls into town, dragging her big-time problems with her, he should have run for the hills. Instead, he volunteered to keep her safe. Bringing her into his world won’t be easy, but if he can convince her that Montana isn’t as terrifying as she believes, they might just be the perfect match.

Casey and Stacia say…

Author Devney Perry has quickly made her way onto many “To Be Read” lists. She has become a one click author for the both of us and is most definitely a Three Girls top recommendation. The Outpost is book 4 in the Jamison Valley series and each book just gets better and better as the stories move along.

We were previously introduced to both Sabrina (Felicity’s BFF) and Beau (Maisy’s brother) in prior books of this series. Beau is a sexy mountain man with a big heart. He drops his entire life to see to it that Sabrina is taken care of and kept safe after she made a move in her career that puts her life in jeopardy. Being stranded in the Montana Mountains is a huge culture shock for city girl Felicity, but with Beau’s help those mountains (and the man) find a way into her heart.

“My heart would fall for this sweet and thoughtful man. It was inevitable. And it would be the forever kind of fall. A disastrous descent that would splatter my heart on the pavement and leave no possible hope for repair.”

The story flowed really well with an added bonus of a bit of suspense. We love reading about the Jamison Valley life, the author paints such a realistic picture that we find ourselves easily immersed in her settings. We are super excited for the next book “The Bitter Root Inn” which will be Maisy’s story. She deserves a happy ending after all that she has been through.

Grab the other books in the Jamison Valley Series! We highly recommend all of them!
