The Fine Line by Alicia Kobishop: Release Day Promo and Review

Synopsis:

High school senior Liv Evans has one rule. No attachments. She lost enough in her life and has vowed to do whatever it takes to make sure she never again feels the emptiness of losing someone she loves. Boys are a fun distraction, but a serious relationship is something she’d rather live without. Her determination for a future free of pain and heartbreak is put to the test when she meets- and quickly forms an unexpected bond- with Logan Tanner.
Logan has always been a free spirit, but ever since a life-changing event took place, which left him doubting the integrity of those who are closest to him, he’s take the term to a whole new dangerous level. Learning the hard way that life is too short for worries or work- and that women can’t be trusted- Logan has exchanged steady work for street racing. When Liv walks into his world, everything he thought he knew about life and women is challenged.
In The Fine Line, Liv and Logan will discover if it’s possible for true love to have a future, or if history is destined to repeat itself.

Guest Reviewer Tina Says…

If you are in the mood for a book that is like a cross between Fast & Furious (RIP Paul Walker) and Beverly Hills 90210, then you must read The Fine Line. I probably just dated myself with the 90210 reference, but it was the first high school television show to come to mind! This story starts out with Olivia Evans, a high school senior living with her mom and stepfather. This poor girl has been through so much during her 17 years of life: her parents get divorced and her dad never stops communication with her, her mom’s next boyfriend dies in a car accident, and the one after that leaves them for another woman. So, needless to say, this girl has built up a wall the size of the Great Wall of China around her heart and she isn’t letting around in!
“My tightly sealed guard already had a tendency of wavering around him. And I knew what would happen if I let my guard down.”Well, you know what happens next…she locks eyes with Logan Tanner while out one night with friends. Oh Logan- total bad boy, street racer, and completely smitten with the spunky Olivia. Liv is dead set on just remaining friends with Logan, but Logan will not take the “Let’s just be friends” line that Liv keeps saying. Her BFF Melody, is doing everything in her power to get Olivia to see the light. And Logan, that boy will stop at nothing to try to convince her to get him a chance. The chemistry between is electric, but will Liv finally give in to Logan.
“You make me feel things… wonderful things that I never knew existed.”
If you are looking for angst, then don’t look any further. I wanted Liv and Logan to finally get together in the worst way, that the angst was almost too much! I was a little nervous about the street racing aspect of the book, but it didn’t overwhelm the book at all. Without giving too much away, the book definitely took a turn that I was not expecting. For a debut book, I think Alicia did a great job. I think the ending was somewhat predictable and I think the angst was just a little too much, but I wanted to see the book to the end.
