Good morning my dear, naive friend,
I hope you’re enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow.
Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c'mon Jo, his ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama.
He's the type of guy that only hears the word “no” when it's followed by “don’t stop.”
Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil…and before you say anything, I don’t care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn’t for sale.
I’ve read my fair share of sad, super-emotional reads so, The Allure of Dean Harper was exactly what I needed. This book was uber-funny, romantic, and just sweet!
You may remember Lily from The Allure of Julian Lefray, she is Jo’s bestie. She recently moved to NYC to be closer to Jo. Unfortunately, Jo is way too busy being in love with Julian to actually spend time with her. So, she ends up getting a job at none other than Dean’s (Julian’s close friend) new restaurant. Immediately they hit off as well as oil and vinegar.
Eventually between Jo and Julian, Dean is worn down enough to offer Lily a job as a consultant on his new restaurant. In between exchanging barbs, they end up hooking up (FINALLY)!!!! Of course this is where the mild angst comes in when Dean gets all broody and Lily in turn becomes even more stubborn.
This book was such a fun ride and just put a smile on my face. The chemistry and witty banter between Lily and Dean made the entire book for me. I loved the humor that R.S. infused within Lily’s chapters.
If you are looking for a book that will keep your full attention and reads like a rom com you want to see on a Friday night with some of your best gals, then definitely check this one out!
