One bridesmaid. One groomsman. One classic wedding hookup.

But for Callie and Devin, their weekend of passion is anything but typical.

Callie Franklin doesn’t do one night stands.

She’s far too responsible and focused on her career to ever let herself give in to temptation. But, on the eve of her best friend’s wedding, she meets that temptation . . .

And his name is Devin McAllister.

Devin, on the other hand, has no problem with meaningless hookups. The very last thing he needs—or wants—is a relationship.

Relationships come with strings.

Relationships come with heartbreak.

A late-night encounter in the hotel’s piano bar finds the two unable to resist each other. With her angelic voice and bright blue eyes, Devin’s sure he’s never met anyone as beautiful as his Songbird.

Six weeks later, when two pink lines confirm Callie’s worst fears, she and Devin have to face the consequences of their wild weekend.

And they have to deal with each other—whether they like it or not.

With a love story that’s far from traditional, Callie and Devin begin to wonder if their one-night stand could turn into something neither of them anticipated.

A happily ever after.

Songbird was my first book by Sydney Logan but definitely will not be my last.  This book was so flipping cute and had me smiling the entire time.

Callie is definitely not the one night stand sort of gal. But sometimes you have to let your hair down and let it happen.  Except this time, it results in a baby and she has to tell the father who is not quite the settling down type. At all.  Devin has the reputation as quite the ladies man.  But once he gets a taste of Callie that’s all he can think about. Unfortunately, when he gets the news that he’s going to be a father he doesn’t take it well.  Well, that’s quite the understatement…he takes it pretty bad.

Once they come to an understanding, Callie and Devin enter into such a sweet romance that it pretty much gives you a cavity. It’s not the cheesy sort of relationship that will end up making you roll your eyes but the sort that leaves a huge smile on our face and have you falling in love with their journey.

Both Devin and Callie are completely different people.  Devin is a bit more fancy-free where Callie is more methodical.  He’s also very guarded when it comes to his heart. After a tragic loss early in his life, he doesn’t seem to want to attach himself to anyone.  Callie on the other hand is very independent and driven, the result of a mother who wasn’t the warm and fuzzy type. Of course there are some kinks that they both have to iron out when they finally get together.

I loved Callie and her determination. I also liked that she still wanted to have her own identity even after she met Devin. She wanted to be an equal in the relationship and was adamant about it.  Devin was a bit of a jerk at first…okay a HUGE jerk but finally came to his senses. His fierce drive not only to win Callie over but also to protect her and their baby was just so romantic. He can be quite the charmer.  But honestly, these two made such a great couple that you will be rooting for them the entire time.

I went into this book with no expectations and ended up enjoying it immensely (hence reading it within a few hours).  If you are looking for a story with mild angst and a swoonworthy  alpha male-definintely check this one out!
