From the New York Times bestselling author of Stepbrother Dearest, comes a new forbidden STANDALONE romance.

What happens when the one you want is the only one you can’t have?

My name is Sevin.

Homeschooled and sheltered by my ultra-religious family, I was always taught that lust was a sin.

Elle was the girl who’d been carefully chosen for me.

After a long-distance courtship, I’d be moving into her family’s guesthouse so that we could get to know each other in the months before the wedding.

Boundaries were set: no inappropriate touching, no kissing, no sex before marriage.

I’d accepted those rules and my fate.

Until I met the one I wanted to sin with.

That was when restraint became a problem…especially since "the one" wasn’t Elle.

It was her sister, Evangeline.

You know what they say about best laid plans.

My name is Sevin, and I have sinned.

Casey Says…..

I love forbidden romances, and reading a book with a neat and different backstory just does it for me and Sins of Sevin was exactly that. The first time I read Penelope Ward, I was sucked in by her writing- you never knew which way she was going to go with her story and I loved the intrigue and surprise.

“You’re my truth. Everything else is a lie.”

Sevin grows up in a very fanatically religious environment (think The Duggers). When his father suddenly passes away, Sevin is given an “opportunity” that he just can’t pass up. Upon arriving in the place where he will now live, things very quickly change course. Being so lost and confused the situation Sevin finds himself in becomes dire. Not wanting to ruin the opportunity he was presented because he refuses to return where he came from-Sevin makes decisions based on his heart, until the freedom to choose is taken away.

“There’s got to be more to life than living in fear of punishment.”

I do not want to give away too much of what happens in the story because I feel it would ruin the emotions that the characters feel as things unfold. Things go up and down pretty quickly and lots of the choices that are made will have you screaming and wondering WHY? WHY? However you quickly understand the man that Sevin is when he steps up and does what needs to be done.

The scenes were set up perfectly, the characters were flawed just enough that you lived the story with them. Forgiveness is at the center of this story and Penelope Ward did it beautifully.
