Series: Shattered Souls #1
Amy Adams was living her dream. Surrounded by her closest friends, she was about to marry the love of her life. Two words would bring her world crashing down around her.
Betrayed by the three people she loves most in the world, Amy must find the strength to pick up the pieces of her shattered dreams. Will she realize the love she sought has always been right in front of her, or will the pain of betrayal force her to turn her back on the one man she can't live without?
I’ve always been a huge fan of best friend to lovers story and after reading the synopsis I knew I needed to pick up Shattered Dreams.
We get to spend the first bit of the book with a younger Amy and Mason. I enjoyed spending this time with the characters where I got to see their friendship and love for each other form. Not only was this an important part with getting to experience the beginnings of their relationship but it’s also the beginning to the shattering of her dreams.
We spend time with Amy in her adult life as her dreams continue to be shattered. Everything that is happening to her is painful and I couldn’t help feeling bad for her. The positive in all the hurtful things happening is that Amy is finally able to take a step back and reevaluate her life and what she really wants out of it and who she really wants in it.
There were definite times that I was worried for her and worried for the relationship I felt coming. Some betrayals have occurred that are definite possibilities to her hear forever being guarded.
Although I enjoyed Amy’s story there were a few things that drove me a bit bonkers; the story was pretty predictable for me – I wasn’t in the least bit shocked by anything that happened. I also didn’t like the transitions mid paragraph/mid page on who’s POV the story was coming from and then two lines later it would switch back. It was confusing at times.
If you’re looking for an easy to read with some heart break love story, Shattered Dreams is a good one to pick up!
