Lola
My name is Lola Sexton, and I’m a sex addict.
Okay…that’s a lie.
Truth is, I’m a serial dater turned dating and relationship columnist for The San Francisco Times. My readers call me Sex. Sex Says.
I love my job.
I love my life.
And I hate Reed Luca.

Reed

My name is Reed Luca, and I’m a liar.
Ironically, that’s the truth.
I’m 31, and my occupation is…well, complicated.
My favorite kind of woman comes in all shapes and sizes, but always has a big brain.
I’ve never hated anything.
Lola Sexton hates me.
Luckily, it’s a thin line between love and hate, and with my help, pretty Lola will only be able to straddle that line for so long.

Stacia says…

Author duo Max Monroe definitely write some of the best banter, wit, and sarcasm between the characters in their books, that I have ever read– and in Sex Says, they really out done themselves! Not to mention the originality of the characters in this book and their quirky personalities was very well done!

Lola Sexton is  a dating/sex/relationship columnist for one of San Francisco’s leading newspapers. She is this nerdy, stubborn, opinionated person, who does basically whatever she wants with her life. When one of her articles touches Reed Luca, he decides to make a video and post it on YouTube, telling the world exactly what is wrong with the way Lola (and her article) sees things. This leads to a slow burn enemies to frenemies to friends to lovers romance.

“Reed Luca- the fucker- had officially gotten inside of my head. He’d mindfucked me, and it wasn’t good ole missionary. This was dirty, ass play, doggy-style kind of mindfucking.”

I will say that there were parts of the book that were a bit slow for me and I felt like some of the scenes were not really needed. Also, I fully admit that I am a cover whore and even though I shouldn’t, I definitely view (judge) a book by its cover- and in my personal opinion, the cover for Sex Says is not good. I just don’t get the “new” appeal that seems to be going around in the book world, to put a guy smoking on the cover. Nothing against smoking if that’s your thing- but I don’t find the cover sexy and if I hadn’t read this author duo before and knew the entertainment value of their writing, I probably wouldn’t read this book based on the cover. I know- that’s horrible, but covers are the first things that readers see- so to me they are very influential in grabbing a reader right away.
Sex Says is a romantic comedy, that is filled with humor, sass, and plenty of chemistry, that readers will enjoy.
