All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Every man in your life abandons you, but who you knew a one-minute clip of your latest doomed relationship would brand you a slut, prevent you from getting your perfect job, and force you to keep doing the one thing you swore you’d never do again…live with your mother.
But staying with mom and her latest boy-toy (is the husband number four or five?) until your life turns around might not be all bad. Especially when you fall- literally- at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter.
There’s only one little problem- the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts. Fame and fortune are his calling cards and he’s vying to steal the show on a new reality TV series what will catapult him into mainstream stardom.
The man behind the famous persona is perfect for Ellie in every way, but can she overcome the ugly pitfalls that come with Mason’s celebrity status? Or will she be forced to choose between the man she loves and the independent life she longs for? After all, fame and fortune aren’t always what they seem and not all publicity is good publicity…
**Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18 **
I was pretty much sucked into Ellie and Mason’s story from their first meeting. Not only was it unusual, but it was laugh-out-loud funny. Ellie is a sweet, kind-hearted woman that doesn’t realize her worth or beauty. After being publicly humiliated by a viral video, she tries to avoid anything that will draw attention to her.
She meets the sexy Mason Nash by chance and their chemistry is immediate and through the roof. What Ellie doesn’t realize is that Mason is very much a public figure and being with him is going to put her right back into the spotlight.
I really love the way this author writes; I enjoyed the dual point of view (POV), the sex scenes were INSANE, and she literally made me laugh out loud. I can’t wait to read more from this new author.
As Stacia said above, I too was completely blown away by this story and finished it in 1 sitting. I am a huge celebrity stalker, so this book was totally up my alley. Ellie is just so darn sweet but had such an unfortunate thing happen to her that completely messed with her self confidence and just made her second guess everything. Ever since her video went viral, and honestly it could’ve been so much worse, she has been the brunt of job refusals, mean comments, and just all around heinous crap. I just wanted to grab her, hug her, and let her know everything will eventually blow over.
Enter hottie Mason Nash (with a name like that, how can he not be a hottie?) and wow did things blow over. I absolutely loved their first meeting. Elisabeth did such a good job writing that scene that I could totally visualize it. Mason has also had to deal with a lot of crap in the last few years, mainly paparazzi, fabricated stories for celeb magazines (yes, I am guilty of owning all celeb magazines, so I actually feed the beast), and also his family, namely his mother. I fell into some serious deep lust for Mason. He was everything that I look for in a BBF.
I agree with everything that Stacia says above about the author and her writing abilities. To be honest, I am shocked that this is the author’s debut book. I am so excited for all of you to enjoy Ellie and Mason’s love story.
