Jules has got a score to settle against the drug dealers of Denver. Vance has made it his mission that Jules won’t get dead while dishing out vigilante justice. Jules doesn’t have time for romance, she’s too busy saving the world and she enlists Zip (the gunstore owner), Heavy (an ex-PI) and Frank (a mysterious recluse) to help.

The Rock Chicks of Fortnum’s Bookstore get involved to provide romantic advice and guidance, none of which Jules accepts at first. The Hot Bunch of Nightingale Investigations adopt Jules as one of their own. Even though Jules tries to hang on to her inner Head Crackin’ Mamma Jamma, the Rock Chicks; Hot Bunch; Jules’s long-suffering Uncle Nick; Jules’s friend the rotund, African-American, Jackie-O wannabe, May; and especially Vance will stop at nothing to wear her down.

But Jules makes some bad guys pretty angry and one is dedicated to taking her out. Vance and the Hot Bunch have to pull out all the stops to keep her alive. At the same time, Jules and Vance learn the true meaning of home but once they find this precious entity they’ve been searching for all their lives, will Jules’s enemies tear it away?

Casey says…..

Let me say, that while Rock Chick Renegade was not my favorite in the Rock Chick series- it was still an amazing, hot chick, hot bunch read. It is the first book I attempted to audio read, but quickly switched back to my Kindle as the pace was way too slow for my liking. I will also say that this is the first book in the series that made me cry. The ending was really heavy and being emotionally invested in the story as you always are with a KA read- it hit me hard.

In book 3, Rock Chick Redemption the book closes out as Vance is chasing a chick on his Harley after watching her shoot out a drug dealers tires in front of Fortnums………. Say HELLO to Juliet Lawler

The book opens and we meet Jules also known to her street kids as “The Law”. Jules is a social worker for a homeless kid shelter where she fights to give the kids a safe place and keep them off the street and away from drugs. She lost her entire family to unforeseen circumstances and replaces that emptiness with the shelter kids. One of the kids that she was very close to OD’s and she decides to pay back the drug lords with humorous albeit dangerous nuisances. She learns to fight and shoot then she takes to the streets………. I love heroines who can kick some ass- AND Jules does it in spades.

Vance Crowe- one word- “YUM”. Super badass, Native American hunk who is third in command for Nightingale Investigations. He takes to Jules and decides he is going to protect her from the dangers she faces as she hits the streets. Vance soon realizes how special Jules is and he gets possessive of her. Typical of the “Hot Bunch”, once that decision is made- Vance moves at the speed of light to get Jules under him and permanently in his life. Jules of course fights this at first- but once he gives in and steps out of her life, she immediately misses him.

“You eat shit most your life, work, sweat, and bleed for anything you could get the rest of it, you know sweet when you taste it.”

I loved how as their story unfolded the action and plot just simmered and then slowly increased in the background.

KA continues to pull these badass heros from some magical place in her brain- and they get better and better with each book I read, regardless the series.  I have been told by a very reliable source that the next few books in this series are Rock Chick Gold so stay tuned for more shenanigans, hotness and just plain ole goodness that is Kristen Ashley.

About Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
