Teagan Cross, college senior, rebel, and wiseass extraordinaire, goes from princess to pauper in a single phone call. Overnight, her life of privilege becomes one of survival, and no matter where she turns, it seems like the world is out to get her. She's not going to fall apart, though. She's a rebel and she's strong … determined to live life on her own terms … and nothing's going to stop her from getting things done and making things right. But when a twist of fate brings her to the doorstep of a different kind of Rebel, she's forced to figure out when something's worth fighting for and when something's worth letting go.

Alexis says…

Hysterical. Yes, that is how I sum Rebel by Elle Casey.

I have been in a serious book slump for the past few days so I picked up Rebel to try and break the slump. Did it cure it? You better believe it!

Teagan is one of the sassiest, foot-in-your-mouth, hysterical heroines I’ve ever read. Half of the stuff that came out of her mouth made me absolutely chuckle out way too loud. In the flash of a minute, her life is turned upside down when her only parent passes away unexpectedly. For Teagan, this will completely change her life as she is a bit spoiled (okay, a lot spoiled) and now has literally no money to her name. With her bestie Quin as her side-kick she tries to make lemonade of the lemons she now has. First stop, find a job. This of course is not easy when she literally has NO previous job experience. I mean no jobs whatsoever. After being rejected countless times, and I will say, the depths that she reaches was sad but pretty funny, she finally finds a job. Okay, she actually pretty much blackmails her way into a job.

Rebel is the owner of the auto shop that she blackmailed her way into working at. Of course, he is this sexy, brooding, albeit very intense guy who says literally three words. Teagan is attracted to him from the get-go. Rebel and Teagan have this amazing chemistry that you can just get feel but their relationship starts as a slow burn.

At the same time, there is some mystery weaved into this book in the form of Teagan’s father’s death. I wished that there was more of a conclusion to this part as I feel like there should’ve been more of a resolution. To me, I think the ending was a bit rushed. I wanted some more of Teagan and Rebel’s budding relationship played out as well. But…there is more to come with the other books. I am definitely starting them ASAP!! This is not without saying that I hands down absolutely loved this book it was exactly what I needed.
