Melanie Winters and Daniel Montgomery shared a love most only dream of, a love they believed bonded them together for life.

When their world is shattered by the tragic loss of their daughter, overwhelming grief and misguided guilt distorts the truth, and their relationship ends in uncertainty and unanswered questions.

For nine years, they drift through life, each unable to forget the one who holds the strings to their heart. In an attempt to escape the pain of her past, Melanie finds herself trapped in a loveless marriage, while Daniel loses himself in a career that means nothing without Melanie by his side.

Now, when their lives again intersect, neither can deny the connection they felt so long ago. But will the power that drew them together be enough to heal the wounds from their past, and will they have the courage to overcome the insecurities and fears that threaten to keep them apart?

Pulled is a story of attraction and separation, of destiny and duty, of a love so strong it refuses to give up even when all others have.

Alexis says…

This is the second book that I have have read by her and she did not let me down. A.L. Jackson has the gift of great storytelling that sucks you right in. Pulled is a story about death, grief, chance encounters, all consuming love, and fate.

Melanie and Daniel meet while they are both in high school and it is love at first sight. When they find out that she is pregnant, their love becomes stronger. Daniel and Melanie start to plan for the future with their new child until a tragic accident takes everything from them. Nine years later, they are both alive but barely living. Melanie is stuck in the trophy-wife role in a loveless marriage to Nicholas, her abusive husband. Daniel is still single and has recently become a doctor in father’s medical practice. When a chance dinner meeting puts Melanie and Daniel at the same table, the love that the two had for each other is brought right to the forefront. Once Melanie and Daniel are reunited, you, the reader, realize that they are each other’s soul mates and nothing can tear them apart again.

“I would destroy anything, anyone who tried to take her from me. Being away from her was no longer an option. She was mine, only mine.”

For me, Melanie’s becomes terribly heartbreaking after the accident. Her relationship with her parent’s is almost non-existent and her husband’s control issues has stripped her of her confidence. The only real relationship, post Daniel, that she has is her friend Katie.

“Our connection was not one that could be severed or used up. Our souls were one as our hands and bodies became twisted and entwined, our own existence-a single creation.”

The accident that happened nine years ago really changed Daniel. Unlike Melanie, he does have his family that he can lean on for support. The guilt that he carries around is so heavy that he is unable to move on with his life. The void that Melanie left in his heart has rendered him unable to move on to another relationship as well. This does not stop Daniel from having short lived flings which eventually do come back to haunt him.

Thanks again to A.L. Jackson for writing such an amazing story. The love that Melanie and Daniel share is so amazing that the magnetic “pull” that the two share is the main character in the book.
