Livy notices him the moment he walks into the coffee shop. He's heart-stoppingly stunning, with a blue-eyed gaze so piercing she's almost too distracted to take his order. When he walks out the door, she thinks she'll never see him again. Then she finds the note he left on his napkin . . . signed M.

All he wants is one night to worship her. No feelings, no commitment, nothing but pleasure. Every defense mechanism Livy has adopted during her solitary life is at risk of being obliterated by this confounding man. He's obnoxious but well-mannered. He's a gentleman but aloof. He's passionate but emotionless. Yet the fascination is so powerful, Livy can't deny him... or herself.

M awakens something in Livy, something deep and addictive that she never knew existed -- and that she fears only he can satisfy. But she senses that behind the fast cars, fancy suits, and posh apartment, he's aching inside. To have him, body and soul, she'll have to brave his dark secrets. Delving into his world and breaking down his defenses become her obsession - an obsession that could shatter her heart beyond repair..

Stacia Says…

I was dying to read this new series by Jodi Ellen Malpas, her This Man series was one of my favorites and I seriously love her writing!

“No matter what will happened, you really are my sweet girl. Nothing will change that”

Olivia “Livy” Taylor seems young, sweet, and kind of naive at first glance. She lives with her grandmother and aside from her best friend Gregory, she doesn’t get out much.
So, when Miller Hart walks into her new job and wants to spend time with her, she’s not sure; especially when he tells her he only wants 24 hours with her. He affects her like no man ever has, but how can she possibly say yes and why would she ever say no?

“I have a proposition… All I can offer you is one night.”

“I’m emotionally unavailable Livy… But I have to have you.” “Twenty-four hours, no strings, no commitment, and no feelings, except pleasure.”

Miller Hart is mysterious and moody, but then he can also be sweet and caring. Not to mention he is definitely sexy and an absolute alpha-male. He avoids sharing too many details of his life with Livy, preferring to keep things simple. But, that’s easier said than done when feelings start getting in the way of what should have been a simple arrangement.

“You’ve knocked me sideways… You’re making me question everything I thought I knew.”

I was on the fence about this book for a good chunk of it. There were parts that I loved and parts that were slow and maybe a little too similar to This Man and even Fifty Shades of Grey (both books which I LOVED) for my taste. This could have possibly been due to my obsession with Jesse Ward and Christian Grey (I’ve read those series too many times to count) but maybe not.

“Cuddling’s my thing with you, Olivia Taylor. I just want to hold you. Close your eyes and enjoy the silence.”

However I was blown away by enough parts of this book to REALLY want book two and Jodi just writes so well; the details, the humor, the sexiness and it was just overall an entertaining book!! Side note- I love all the British Slang and references; I want to move to England and make a new bestie over there that can teach me all of these amazing new words and I can listen to her talk all day long- does that make me a stalker LOL?!? I am now on to book two- One Night: Denied (The One Night Trilogy book 2);  look for my review next week!
