There’s no emotion greater than fear.
No ache greater than grief.
No sound greater than silence.
I’m grateful he showed up on my doorstep,
pissed off and angry at the world.
If he hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here.
And I don’t just mean here on this journey with him.
I mean here, in this world.
I wonder what events in all our lives—hers included—are The Turning Points? The points where we all determine that the fear of our pasts and the uncertainty of our futures are greater than our need for happiness.
While time and everything around us stands unmoving… who’s to say we can’t have it all?
We wanted it all.
We wanted it with each other.
We thrived on the chaos we created.
And ignored the Mayhem that ensued.
Because falling in love was easy.
But sometimes, love isn’t enough.
I admittedly put off reading this book, even though I had it sitting on my kindle for a couple weeks prior to the release day. I did this for a couple reasons– Number one, I was apprehensive about Dylan’s story because I knew it would be super sad and the military aspect (especially being the Marine Corps, which is very close to home) of the story made me really nervous and second, I didn’t want this series or these characters to end and knowing that this is the last book in the More Than series makes me kind of heartbroken!
But like all the books in the series, Jay McLean wrote this story with such heart! There were heartwarming moments, so many funny and loving moments, and then of course there were the gut-wrenching heartbreaking moments as well. That is what makes Jay such an amazing author/story-teller. She has the ability to roll all these moments in a great book!
“I don’t want deep. I want the horizon. I want the calm.”
I am going to leave this review pretty vague, because I don’t want to give anything away. I want you to be able to go into the story wondering who “she” is and how she fits into Dylan’s life and with the rest of the gang. Speaking of the rest of the gang… I LOVED that we got more of all of them! We got more mayhem, more book club, more drunken Lucy, and of course more of the all of them together!!
I am a HUGE fan of an epilogue, sometimes they can even make or break a book for me. So, when a series or trilogy ends (or even when it is a stand-alone book) I always hope to get a glimpse of my favorite characters in the future, or even just a heart-warming reflection; especially when I have put so much into the characters and their lives (yes I get very attached)!
So, the one thing that didn’t work for me with More Than Enough, unfortunately was the epilogue. It just left me wanting so much more. But, this series and this book are such great reads, you don’t want to miss out on them!
“I fell in like in my kitchen, surrounded by twenty wishes. I fell in love in his garage, once when I kissed him, and then again when he wrote love on my arm. I fell in forever right now, when a man I love put my happiness first and made me finally believe that I Am Worthy.”
