At twenty-two years old, Sydney has a great life: She's in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter's cheating on her--and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by Ridge, her mysterious neighbor. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there's something about Sydney that Ridge can't ignore, either. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one...

I am admittedly a massive CoHo fan and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Maybe Someday..who wouldn’t?! Anything Colleen Hoover writes I go apeshit over! I never know what to expect when I’m going into her books, but I usually expect a huge roller coaster of emotions. I’m going to attempt to write this review without giving anything away so please bear with me!!

Sydney thinks she’s lucky at the age of 22 with a loving and caring long term boyfriend, Hunter, who she is perfectly content with. She thinks she may be in love with him but deep down she has a nagging feeling that he may just not be the one for her; is content really what she strives for in life?! Almost every night she finds herself out on her porch listening to her mysterious neighbor play the guitar. From afar she is already completely enamored with him; she can already tell from faraway how handsome he is and she is completely taken with his musical talent. He’s her nightly escape from the life she thinks she wants but then she starts questioning why she needs this escape. I knew from the start that Hunter was not the one for her, no person deserves to just be content. I really felt for her and wanted her to reach for more in her life.

“I can’t deny it,though. Anyone who watches how passionately this guy plays would crush on his talent.”

On a night she thinks is going to be a huge celebration she finds Hunter with someone else. Completely heartbroken and homeless, her mysterious neighbor, Ridge, comes to her rescue. I was literally hopping up and down super excited for their first interaction. CoHo goes into such detail before they meet about this attraction they feel from yards away, can you imagine?! Sigh, I would love to feel something for someone from so far away!! I knew they were going to be amazing together!

“I’ve learned that the heart can’t be told when and who and how it should love. The heart does whatever the hell it wants to.”

What happens after is something I never really saw coming. I had a massive love/hate relationship with Ridge. I LOVED LOVED LOVED his connection with Syd and all the things he kept reaching for with her. I don’t want to go into too much detail because everyone should experience a CoHo book without any spoilers to the plot line. I really did love the connection Ridge and Syd had through their music but I honestly hated the way that Ridge handled a lot of scenarios throughout the book. Also, I felt that one person was left feeling like the consolation prize. I honestly don’t know if I would have chosen the path this character chosen, I don’t think I could live my life feeling that way even if I was madly in love with the person.

“It’s you, he says aloud. My heart… wants you”

Honestly, this is an amazing book as are all her books but I had some major issues with some of the plot lines. It may just be from life experiences I’ve had but I still really enjoyed it and I definitely recommend Maybe Someday to our followers!!
