A standalone romance from the New York Times Bestselling author of Black Lies and Hollywood Dirt...

I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.

Damn our friendship.

Damn my fears.

Alessandra Torre is one of the first authors I ever fell in love with. Her writing is intoxicating…it’s the sort of writing that leaves you breathless and wanting for more. She has written all sorts of books since I discovered her works. Love in Lingerie is a lighter book of hers but also had hints of the first series I read of hers, the Innocence series sprinkled in.

Love in Lingerie is a friends-to-lovers/coworker romance with a verrryyy slow burn. Personally I love this sort of troupe, as I do love a forbidden romance! Trey Marks’ lingerie company has been struggling for some time. He hires Kate Martin as the new Creative Director to try and revitalize his company. Trey’s first rule? There is absolutely not fraternization allowed. Unfortunately for both of them, they are utterly infatuated with each other. Love in Lingerie spans years where you see the temptation build between these two. You also see how Kate transforms Trey’s company throughout the years.

I’m going to go on the record and say that this book is very HOT! And trust me, it wasn’t just the sex scenes in this one, the interactions between Kate and Trey were so sexy even when they weren’t giving into each other. Alessandra has a knack for writing such sexual tension at its finest. You also feel the longing between these two throughout the years and just want them to break down and give into what they know is inevitable.

I enjoyed this one, but I didn’t love it. It took me a few days to think it through and realize why. I think it was the timing of it all. Most of the book is set up dangling the inevitable hook-up of Trey and Kate. But when they finally do realize they just need to give in to their urges it fizzled a bit. The ending was tied up way too fast and the reader isn’t treated to them as a couple for more than just an epilogue. Personally, I wanted a bit more of the two of them how they navigate their relationship while working at Mark’s Lingerie.

If you are looking for a sexy, addictive read, Alessandra has delivered this book precisely for you.

Lastly, it might just be me, but after reading Love in Lingerie, I need to really up my “lingerie game”.
