As the owner of Licked, an eclectic ice creamery and bar, Ryleigh Phillips doesn't have time for that love stuff. Serving up Nibble My Nuts sundaes and Drunken Sailor boozy shakes are as close to an orgasmic affair as she's had in months thanks to her expanding empire—until the night of her ten-year high school reunion.

When Ryleigh's crush, gorgeous ex-football god Cameron Mathis, comes streaking into her life (literally—streaking), she begins to wonder if she really can have it all.

Wouldn't it just figure that the moment you think life is perfect is when it falls spectacularly apart?

Enter Hunter Morgan, the contractor in charge of Licked's renovations. Devastatingly handsome, and a smartass to boot, he's got his eyes on Ryleigh from the moment he finds her passed out on his couch (yeah, that's a long story). There's just one tiny complication—he happens to be Cameron's best friend.

When the lines between relationships and friendships blur, and it's impossible to choose between two delicious flavors, what's a girl to do? Taste a sample of each? Or go out and get LICKED?

Alexis says…

Licked starts with Ryleigh at her high school reunion hoping to run into the one guy she crushed on for many years.  She is a bit quirkier than most but it made her that much cooler in my opinion. She’s also got this insanely kick-ass ice cream shop that serves up concoctions with names like S&M&M, Ravaged Raw, and Clam Jam. She’s always had a knack for all things retro and didn’t change her style even when she was ridiculed by the mean girls (we all know how they can be). Of course her and Cameron hit it off instantly and they decide to take things back to his place.  After a bit too much to drink, things don’t go exactly how Ryleigh envisioned and the next morning she is greeted by Cameron’s sexy roommate Hunter.

When the construction on her addition to Licked goes a bit awry, Hunter (yes, coincidentally he is a contractor) steps in and gets everything back on track with his Chippendales-esque crew.  It seems that he is also taking her dreams and making them her reality.  It’s as if he knows what Ryleigh likes and puts those ideas to play.  The two of them start a bit of a flirtation but end up treading on thin ice when they both start to like each other. Ryleigh starts to question if Cameron is really the person she’s really supposed to be with.  How can she not, she’s been in love with him forever. He’s perfect in so many ways…but is Hunter even more perfect for her?

I know what you are thinking…LOVE TRIANGLE!!!  But it really isn’t, I swear.  I won’t go into specifics but you will definitely know where the chips fall and where her heart is without it getting too messy.

This book brought such a fun twist to what has been written before.  It was fresh, sexy, funny as hell, and unique. Ryleigh is the perfect heroine that you will want serving you her boozy shakes or even a sundae. I would kill to have her wardrobe and fashion sense.

The only thing I wanted from this book was an epilogue. I know that there will be other books in this series so I imagine we will see how Ryleigh and the guy she chooses are still doing.

This is the perfect, quick read if you are looking to laugh a lot.  The writing is impeccable and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Blaine comes up with next!

About Brooke Blaine

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.

Brooke enjoys writing sassy contemporary romance, whether in the form of comedy, suspense, or erotica. The latter has scarred her conservative Southern family for life, bless their hearts.

If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find – just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.
