Series: How To #2
Genres: Young Adult
Sierra Livingston’s got it bad for her sister’s best friend, Levi Mason—the boy who carries his drumsticks in his pocket, marches with the school’s band, and taps his feet to whatever beat runs through his head. Sierra racks her brain for ways to impress the sexy drummer, but the short skirts and bursting cleavage don’t seem to cut it.
When Sierra gets paired with Levi’s sister, Brea, for a mentorship program, they strike a deal. In exchange for Sierra keeping her mouth shut about Brea ditching the program, Brea lets Sierra dig for more info on Levi to help get the guy of her dreams.
But when Sierra discovers Levi no longer plays the drums, his family has moved into a trailer, and he’s traded in his Range Rover for a baby blue moped, Sierra’s not sure if she can go through with violating his privacy. She’ll have to find the courage to ask him straight out—if he’s willing to let her in—and explore other ways to seduce the school’s band geek.
Since I devoured book #1, How to Date a Nerd in one night I immediately moved onto book #2 in the series, How to Seduce a Band Geek. If you missed my review of How to Date a Nerd yesterday, you can check it out here.
I was a bit nervous about picking up this book because I wasn’t so sure if I was going to like Sierra since I wasn’t completely crazy about her in the first book but book 2 takes place two years later and once we actually get a peek into Sierra’s head it’s absolutely impossible not to fall in love with her CRAZY thoughts. She’s absolutely hilarious and her antics throughout the book just made me love her so much more.
Sierra is hardcore crushing on her sister Zoe’s best friend, Levi. We met Levi in How to Date a Nerd. It’s definitely NOT necessary for you to read book 1 before picking up this book but I do recommend reading it! Anywho..back to the review…Sierra is DETERMINED to get Levi’s attention, she finds any way to be around him and concocts ways to get his attention that had me laughing so freaking hard.
There’s more to Levi then she knew and she quickly learns what is really going on in his life during one of her charades. It was great to go through the motions of them learning each other and trying to figure out if he feels the same as Sierra. There were harder obstacles for them to overcome and many times that I wanted to shake Levi so fahhhreaking hard it wasn’t even funny but you know everyone has their own time frame of finally realizing the truth in the situations.
What I absolutely love about this series is that the characters are totally quirky, they each hold a special place in my heart no matter how much they drove me insane. Throughout Sierra’s story we thankfully get peeks into what is going on with Zoe and Zak, YAY! I LOVED Levi in book 1 and was super excited to read his story; he totally broke my heart with all the struggles he’s been going through since we first met him. I couldn’t help loving him more even though he had a tendency to make me mad!
If you haven’t picked up this cute and quirky YA series, I recommend that you do! Take a break from the sexy smoking hot books and fall in love with the Geeks and Nerds for a change!! I can’t wait for book 3, How to Hook a Book Worm!
