Cole Masten. Abandoned by his superstar wife, Hollywood’s Perfect Husband is now Hollywood’s Sexiest Bachelor: partying hard and screwing even harder. Watch out Los Angeles, there's a new bad boy in town.

Summer Jenkins. That’s me, a small town girl stuck in Quincy, Georgia. I cook some mean chicken and dumplins, can bluff a grown man out of his savings in poker, and was voted Most Friendly my senior year.

We were from different worlds. Our lives shouldn’t have collided. But then Cole Masten read a book about my small town. And six months later, his jet landed on our dusty airstrip, and he brought Hollywood with him.

From the start, I knew he was trouble. For our town. And for me.

Sometimes, opposites just aren’t meant to attract.

I’ve made my girl crush on Alessandra very well known.  I love her way with words, I mean she could write the back of a cereal box and I’d still read it. So when I saw that she was writing a book about a Hollywood star that falls in love with a small-town girl my first thought was, “yes please”!!  I’ve read books of the same ilk before but most of the time they seem to fall a little flat. It’s equal parts meek heroine or super annoying hero.  To Alessandra’s credit, neither of these scenarios were part of Hollywood Dirt.

Cole is Hollywood’s biggest heartthrob. He is also licking his wounds after finding his wife in bed with her director. To take his mind off his current marital situation, he puts all his energy into his upcoming movie.    Cole isn’t your typical Hollywood star, there is more to him than just superficialness and wealth.  Deep down, you see the real Cole. Oy, and the mouth on him…wowzers!

“I won’t stop until my mouth is imprinted on your mind and your taste is my fucking middle name.

Summer Jenkins is the social outcast of Quincy, Georgia after the fallout of a very talked about scandal.  When she meets the scouting agent for Cole’s upcoming movie, she comes to his rescue and helps secure locations, accommodations, etc. for the movie thus securing her own paycheck to get the hell out of Quincy.  The things I liked most about Summer was that she took life by the horns. She was pushy, temperamental, and blunt beyond words.  Those same things were what attracted Cole the minute he meets her.

At first, it’s enemy warfare between Cole and Summer. The sexual tension between these two bleeds from within the pages. One minute they are so hot for each other and the next they want to almost kill one another.  Yet these two are so perfect for each other, but Summer is a bit more difficult and doesn’t want to give into Cole. It was almost like a game of chicken to see who professed their feelings first.  It was almost like an unspoken thought that Summer thought she wasn’t good enough for Cole.

“They say that love is finding your soul’s match in another.”

I was a bit concerned since nothing Alessandra writes is hearts and butterflies. But Hollywood Lies was such a nice surprise and I absolutely loved it. The way the story unfolded and their romance was a slow burn. The slow burn made for a more organic feel. To be honest, I’m not sure the story would’ve worked any other way.  The backstory to this story was very interesting as I had never heard of this town.  Oh! And there is a special treat in this book if you’ve read some of Alessandra’s earlier works, and no, I’m not giving it up!!

I absolutely loved this book, the writing, the sexiness, well pretty much everything.
