For Mackenzie Cox, racing motorcycles is in her blood. Born into a family legacy, she's determined to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in this male-dominated sport. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonised by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Hayden, exceedingly arrogant and outrageously attractive, immediately gets under Kenzie's skin and she can't help but be distracted.

As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense - and strictly forbidden - attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie needs a win, and she also needs to stay away from Hayden. Unfortunately for her though, one thing has become all too clear: she can't.

Fuelled by passion, driven by desire, Hayden and Mackenzie both want to win more than anything else. Except for, maybe, each other. But anger, jealousy and extreme competitiveness aren't their only obstacles . . .

Stacia says…

What can be sexier than a man on a motorcycle that races?! How about a bad boy former illegal street racer, with an even worse reputation– Mr. sex on a stick- Hayden Hayes. In Furious Rush, you also get a female racer, Mackenzie “Kenzie” Cox, who has to prove herself in not only a man’s sport- but also has to live up to the achievements her champion father set in the sport and she is the last hope in saving her family’s failing racing team.
Hayden and Kenzie race for opposing rival teams, with owners that hate each other and have put an absolutely no-fraternizing rule into place between their teams. But, when you have the kind of chemistry and sexual tension from the start that these two have, it’s hard to not break the rules- no matter what the serious consequences are.

“Lead me, and I’ll follow.”

While I loved the racing aspect of this book and the obvious connection between Hayden and Kenzie, there were some things that didn’t work for me.  I felt like there were a lot of side stories going and some worked themselves out quickly (maybe even too quickly) and then some dragged on throughout the book- which wasn’t even necessary. Going into this book I assumed, rightfully so, that it was a standalone. There is no indication that this is a series and honestly there is no real reason that it should be. If the book was just a tad bit longer and some of the “fluff” side stories were knocked out, this could be an amazing standalone book. Instead it ends in a “mild” cliff hanger and is obviously left open for additional books. Now, I don’t mind a series, in fact often I love a good series. I also don’t mind a cliffhanger; what I don’t like is going into a book assuming that the story will be wrapped up in the end and then being blindsided when it is suddenly 25% left of the book and you realize there is no way it can be completed.

S.C. Stephens is one of my favorite authors, I mean she wrote Kellan Kyle, how can you not love her! So, of course I will continue to look forward to anything new she writes and I might even pick up the 2nd book in this series when it comes out, just to see how the stories wraps up.
