First, he saved me.
I lived because he was a hero.
And then he was gone.
Uprooted by the fire that destroyed our home, my family moved away and I never saw David Andrews again.
Then, he found me.
Eighteen years later, he rescued me again – in much simpler terms, of course. By loving me, by giving me the fairy tale I’d always hoped for, he provided me with the perfect life.
Now, he needs to be saved.
It’s my turn to be strong, to be brave, to be valiant.
When flames threaten to turn us to ashes, it’s up to me to pull us From the Wreckage.
From the Wreckage completely sucked me in. Fate and destiny play a huge part in David and Grace’s life and shows that things happen for a reason.
David literally saves Grace from a raging fire that destroyed her childhood home. This act of heroism at such a young age leads David to become a fireman. Throughout the years both think of each other and always wonder what happened to the other. On a random night out they bump into each other and sparks fly. They end up entering into a perfect (literally perfect in every way) relationship. Unfortunately life gets in a way in the way of tragedy. Can Grace and David make it through unscathed?
“I love you for the fairy tale you’ve give me and for all the tomorrows to come.”
I have read a few of Melissa’s books and this one really pulled at my heartstrings. The whole time you are rooting for David and Grace and the fact that fate brought them together and all that. I knew that all was not going to be smooth sailing…I think I was just not expecting THAT. The way that Melissa drove the story was amazing. I love that she weaved the importance of 9/11 into the book and showed that it still affects people to this day-little or big.
“I love you more than should be allowed.”
Both Grace and David had my heart thumping at many times. Oh boy, David was such the sexy fireman. Grace, she was just the sweet girl looking for love and finally found her soulmate.
From the Wreckage was a great love story and I recommend it. You will fall in love with this story and enjoy the sweetness and yes…the sexiness. I also loved the epilogue and hope that we get another story about Ian and Jade.
