Fixed on You by Laurelin Paige: Blog Tour, Review, & Playlist

Synopsis:

Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither’s past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out—move up at the nightclub she works at and stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder. A perfect plan.
But what Alayna didn’t figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He’s smart, rich, and gorgeous—the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check. Except, Hudson’s fixed his sights on her. He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of it. Avoiding him isn’t an option after he offers a business proposition she can’t turn down and she’s drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull.
When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she’s fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing.

Alexis says…

I have had this book on my TBR list for a while.  I am not sure what took me so long, I almost want to kick myself!  This book had the same theme:  rich, domineering, HOT, alpha-male like many other books I’ve read in the last few months, but it was better.  I don’t know if it’s because I liked the characters or the storyline better…trust me it was that good.  I’m not a huge fan of insta-love but for some reason it totally worked for me in this book.  Somehow the author seemed to have worked a miracle on me.
Alayna has just graduated from NYU Business School and has been working up the ranks at a nightclub.  In the past, she has been known to go a little wacky when it comes to men (yes, I’m talking stalking and restraining orders).  When she gets a proposition from Hudson Pierce, the sexy owner of the nightclub that she works at, it is too good to pass up.  I totally liked Alayna right off the bat.  Yeah, she has her fair share of problems, but what person wouldn’t after losing their parents at an early age.  She definitely owned up to her problems and was proactive in seeking a solution.  Not many books these days show that kind of depth in a character and I love that Ms. Paige did.  Also, the way Alayna handled Hudson’s awful mother and at the same time was able to fit in with the other part of his family was just downright amusing.
Now…onto the mysterious and sexy Hudson.  He is literally one of the sexiest male characters I have ever read, and boy does he have a mouth on him, I love it!!!  From the minute you meet him, you think that he is this self-centered, arrogant jerk.  But, throughout the book, Alayna tries her hardest to thaw some of his icy exterior and that is when you meet the real Hudson.  In a very subtle way, you learn that he really is a selfless guy who takes on guilt that he shouldn’t have to. The reasoning for his proposition to Alayna is definitely a selfless deed in my opinion.
The sex factor in this book is off the charts!  I also love the banter back in forth between Alayna and Hudson’s parents.  If you are looking for a fun, steamy read, look no further.  Excuse me while I go and start the next book, Found in You right now!

About the Author:

USA Today Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine. She is represented by the wonderful Bob Diforio of D4EO Literary Agency.
