When soccer all-star Jax Avery collides with Dani Hart on his twenty-first birthday, their connection is instantaneous and explosive.  For the first time in years, Jax isn’t interested in his usual hit-it and quit-it approach.

But Dani knows better. Allowing herself a night to be carefree and feel the intensity of their attraction won’t change anything when it comes to dealing with a player. So when Jax doesn’t recognize Dani the next time he sees her, it shouldn’t be a total shock. The fact that he’s her new roommate's brother? That’s a shock.

Dani doesn’t regret that night with Jax, just the need to lie about it. Since her roommate has made it clear what she thinks about her brother’s “type” of girl, the last thing Dani wants is to admit what happened.

Jax knows he’s walking a fine line on the soccer team. One more misstep and he’s off the roster, his plans to go pro be damned. Except he can’t seem to care. About anything… except for the one girl who keeps invading his dreams.

Despite Jax’s fuzzy memory of his hot hookup with his sister’s friend, he can’t stay away from her, even if that means breaking his own rules. But there are bigger forces at work–realities that can end Dani’s college career and lies that can tear them apart.

Jax realizes what he’s losing if Dani walks away, but will he sacrifice his future to be with her? And will she let him if he does?

FINDING DANDELION, the second book in the Dearest series, is a stand-alone novel. This New Adult romance is recommended for readers 18+ due to mature content.

Alexis says…

The minute I finished Dearest Clementine, I had to get my hands on Finding Dandelion immediately. I could not wait to read about Jax…I had a feeling that he was just a misunderstood person, and I was completely right. I also wanted to see how he and Dani could forge a relationship.

We met both Jax and Dani in Dearest Clementine. Jax is Clem’s sexy, soccer stud twin brother. He is the type of guy whose escapades land him on Page Six in the NY Post. Dani is Clem’s roommate who we really didn’t get to know very well in the first book. You know that she doesn’t know Clem all that well and that she is completely different from all of the women Jax brings home.

Dani has made herself a bucket list of sorts and on her list amongst getting a tattoo and dancing on a table is having a one-night stand. This is where Jax comes into play while they are out celebrating Clem and Jax’s 21-st birthday. Both he and Dani engage in some serious hotness but Jax leaves immediately after they are interrupted. Both Dani and Jax have no idea who the other one is…until the next day. Dani immediately recognizes Jax and finds out that he is in fact Clem’s twin. What is even worse? Jax not remembering her at all! Of course, Jax is drawn to her but cannot for the life of him realize why. Between the two of them and the circumstances that bring them together they start having an angst-filled relationship that will keep you guessing more than Rachel and Ross!

Both Jax and Dani have certain issues that keep them from fully committing to one another. Between insecurities, family issues, and mega misunderstandings these two are put through an emotional roller coaster. The entire book I wanted to seriously hate Jax with a passion but I couldn’t. The way he was with his 4-year old neighbor Chloe was just heartbreaking. I mean…he made pillow forts and slayed dragons for her. His man-whore ways did put me over the edge a bit but he ended up on my good side. I loved Dani from the get-go; she was just a fantastic character. She was strong, knew what she wanted and would not be misled. She was also very invested in her relationships with her roommates and her friend Travis who was AMAZING. I want a friend just like Travis; if he exists…he can have my number.

Finding Dandelion was a lot different then Dearest Clementine, there was not any mystery surrounding the story. This book was also a lot hotter than the first book but again the circumstances and characters were totally different. I also really liked how the author wove both stories together. You got some of the same storyline into both books but they were written totally different. Lex Martin has become one of my new favorite authors and I cannot wait for Kissing Madeline. Please, please, please, pick up this series, you will not regret it. Lex Martin is a true gem in the indie author realm.
