When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup two months into sophomore year. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, and failing a class for the first time in her life.
Leaving a party alone, Jacqueline is assaulted by her ex's frat brother. Rescued by a stranger who seems to be in the right place at the right time, she wants nothing more than to forget the attack and that night - but her savior, Lucas, sits on the back row of her econ class, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. Her friends nominate him to be the perfect rebound.
When her attacker turns stalker, Jacqueline has a choice: crumple in defeat or learn to fight back. Lucas remains protective, but he's hiding secrets of his own. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.
Lucas OyMG what a sexy, swoon-worthy male lead! I mean who wouldn’t love a knight in “tattooed” armor to rush in and save the day!?! And that’s exactly what he did, when Jacqueline needed him most.
“He brushed my tears from my face.”How did I find you?”
After following her douche boyfriend, of almost 3 years, to college and then getting dumped by said douchey boyfriend (you can’t deny this guy is pretty douchey, lol), Jacqueline is assaulted and almost raped by one of her ex’s frat brothers outside of a Halloween party. Thank goodness Lucas is at the right place at the right time and saves her.
Where she never noticed him before, he just seems to be everywhere she is… stalker or maybe just fate; because, he is definitely someone she realizes she needs in her life.
“Choosing to be with you isn’t a difficult decision, Jacqueline…It’s easy. Incredibly easy.”
This book has a little bit of everything… romance, suspense, supporting friendships, anguish, and of course a leading man that everyone will want as their book boyfriend. Not to mention, Tammara Webber does a great job of not only bringing awareness to rape, but the safety measures that should be taken to avoid an attack. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading Breakable, the 2nd book in the Contours of the Heart series.
