Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.
It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.
Clash (verb): to come together or collide.
I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.
Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.
Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.
Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.
He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.
Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.
Clash is a teaser novella that kicks off Cal and Macy’s story. Boy…what a flipping #skokieread it was.
This is a spin-off from Sawyer’s Legal Briefs series. Though this is just a novella, it packs a lot of punch in a short amount of words.
We start off at Mac and Matt’s son’s first birthday thrown by none other than Macy. Of course, the soiree is dripping in opulence and just gets right under Cal’s skin. What starts as some sexual tension-filled sparring turns into a mega-hot rendezvous in the pantry that leads them both to thinking about doing it again. When Macy needs Cal on a professional level it throws a wrench into the works.
Both Cal and Macy cannot stand each other and honestly, it’s one of my favorite storylines out there. I mean they aren’t sworn enemies but they just seem to have a mild dislike for each other. I can’t wait to get to the bottom of the mystery that is Macy. I know that there is stuff happening behind the scenes there and I can just tell it’s going to be juicy. Cal? Oh Cal…he has totally moved up on the HAWT book boyfriend meter.
I highly recommend this if you are looking for a book that hooks you right away and is guilty-pleasure reading (wink wink). I will say that there is quite the cliffhanger but the next book will be out very shortly and is full-length.
