Coen Steele has spent the last five years serving his country. Now that he's back, he's finally ready to leave behind the chaos of the battlefield and pursue his lifelong dream. What he wasn't expecting was the feisty sister of one of his battle buddies—who has made it obvious that she wants nothing to do with him—to intrigue him in a way no woman has before.

Reagan Hudson's life changed in the blink of an eye six years ago when she found out she was pregnant and on her own. Since then, Reagan has vowed never to let another man into her life so that no one can walk out on her, or her son, again. But the more she runs into her brother's hot and mysterious friend, the more he sparks something in her that she promised herself she wouldn't feel again.

Can two people with everything to lose allow themselves to finally capture the love they both deserve?

Stacia Says…

I think by now most everyone knows how much I adore Molly McAdam’s and love everything she writes. With every book she puts out, I am become more and more impressed by the wide range of topics and genres she is able to successfully write about. Capturing Peace is another great example of this.

At the age of 16, Reagan Hudson finds herself pregnant and alone. The lack of support and love that she receives from her boyfriend, who wants nothing to do with her and the gut reaction from her parents, is literally heartbreaking. Her boyfriend is just a douche that has no redeeming qualities and yes her parents probably felt like she was ruining her life and her future, but it still broke my heart. Thank goodness for her older brother Keegan, who is always there to pick her up and help her and thankfully her parents come around eventually. Six years later, Reagan is a single mother that has devoted her life to her son Parker. She doesn’t allow anyone but her family to get close to her, figuring this is the best way to protect her heart and her son from more heartbreak.

“I can’t have Parker lose you, do you understand? I can’t have him fall in love with you and lose you! It seems dumb to you, it may seem dumb to everyone… but his heart is my priority… not mine.”

After recently getting out of the military, Coen Steele is ready to pursue his dream of a career in photography and continue to try and fight the demons that haunt him from everything he saw and lived during deployments. He never expected to find peace from these demons, in his best friend Keegan’s little sister Reagan. But can these two, who are so used to pushing everyone away, finally find happiness and love together?

“Everything’s fast with us, but fast feels right when I’m with you.”

Since military plays such a huge part in my life, I of course loved all the military aspects of this book. I think Molly did an amazing job of incorporating military life and “lingo” into this story, without it being confusing to those that aren’t familiar with the military lifestyle. I also HIGHLY commend her for giving us a male lead character that isn’t your typical blond blue-eyed male… I seriously loved that Coen was a sexy, tattooed, strong Asian man. I personally feel that authors don’t give us enough diversity in our male leads, so thank you to Molly for stepping outside of the “male cookie-cutter” box and writing hottie Coen!  I am looking forward to the other books in this series and hopefully Keegan will also get his story told.

About Molly McAdams

Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she’s not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm…or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.
