Sometimes dreams aren’t meant to be chased. Sometimes forevers change with one regret. But when it’s worth the fight—we always wind up back where we belong. Mia and Declan have struggled through infidelity, guilt, and betrayal. Declan wasn’t too proud to lay his heart on the line and show Mia that she is his everything, but can these two find a way to get past all the hurt, to heal old wounds, and get back to good?
I’ll do all I have to do to find my way back to you...
Back to You is a novella continuation from Book #1 of the series, Man of My Dreams. If you haven’t read Man of My Dreams yet then I highly suggest you stop reading this review and pick up Man of My Dreams.
I absolutely, 100%, fell in love with Mia and Declan when I read Man of My Dreams. I connected with the story so freaking much because I honestly believed it was one of the only stories that I have read that the situations, circumstances and choices made throughout the book were completely REAL. They are choices that I’ve seen made in relationships and choices that I see COULD be made. It was heartbreaking but completely enlightening. Relationships are WORK. Tons and tons and tons of work. We saw them work through so many issues and find their way back to each other.
Just because Man of My Dreams ended in an HEA and we felt they were finally THERE doesn’t mean that all the work is done. The work will never be done in my opinion. This is exactly what we get to see in Back to You. This novella gives us a glimpse into how Mia and Declan are doing now that they have found their way back to each other but we especially get to see how the decisions they made STILL and most likely always will affect them. There’s guilt, resentment and an overall feeling of just wanting to scream and get things of their chest.
“You don’t think part of me wants to hate you for what you did to us?”
I loved seeing them finally get everything off their chests and tell each other how their choices in MOMD affected them and broke their hearts. I loved how really I felt them to be, I connected so much more with Mia and Declan because the stories were 1,000% realistic..so much so that I know real life stories that have happened in the same way, some ending in a HEA and some ending in not such great ways.
“It is entirely possible to love someone so much that it actually effects your physical being. Your heart beats faster and stronger. Your blood pumps wilder and thicker. Your brain bends, chasing images and memories of the person who does all those incredible things to your body.”
Thank you Faith for giving us a follow up and letting us experience their emotions and see them work through their issues together!
