Alexis’ Top Reads of 2014!

Alexis’ Top Reads of 2014!

I originally had 20 top reads but  decided to limit it to 10. It was like picking my favorite dog...nearly impossible!  There have been many other books I loved, but these were my absolute favorites that were published in 2014... they are in no particular order.

Drumroll Please!!

The Saint by Tiffany Reisz

This book is my favorite bedtime story of all time.  I loved learning the beginning of the epic love story of Nora and Soren.

The King by Tiffany Reisz

This book effectively had me crying at just two words…Mon Dieu.  It also had me questioning who I wanted with my all-time favorite book boyfriend Soren.

Upside Down by Lia Riley

GAH!!!!  Thinking  about Talia and literally how much we are alike gives me goosebumps.  I loved her and Bran’s love story and all three books; but this one has my heart.  I also want to plan a trip to Australia as Lia did an incredible job making me completely jealous that Indiana is nothing like Australia.

Variables of Love by MK Schiller

MK does it again! This book was also a huge tearjerker for me. It detailed a bit of a forbidden romance with such fun, sexiness, and hot Ethan. Love really does conquer all!  I have to admit, when I originally had a Top 20, her other book A Girl by Any Other Name was also on the list.

Black Lies by Alessandra Torre

Obsessed. That was me throughout reading this book. I was one of, what it seems like were very few, to not figure out the twist until the very end.  I loved every single thing about this one and I’m super glad I went into this book blind. Alessandra wrote such a unique and intense book and perfected it!

Break the Sky by Nina Lane

I never thought I could love another Archer brother as much as Dean but trust me, it’s possible.  Archer and Kelsey’s love story was HOT!  Nina is the reigning queen of all things sexy and is one of the reasons I love to read and blog!

Dearest Clementine by Lex Martin

I’m a HUGE cover snob and originally this is what drew me to this book.  But…the writing, the funniness, intrigue, and just all around fabulousness make me fall in love.  Plus, I’m a sucker for NA books especially when it has the RA falling in love with a student. This book also has one of my all-time favorite quotes, “God, you make me hot when you talk grammar.”

Love, In English by Karina Halle

This is another book that had me at its cover.  I fell hard for Vera and Mateo’s relationship. I loved the forbidden feeling of it and how much they both fought it and eventually succumbed to the inevitable. I literally read this book in one day and it caused quite the hangover! The backdrop of the story made me want to plan a trip ASAP to Spain as well.

Full Measure by Rebecca Yarros

This was a fantastic debut by Rebecca Yarros. It sucked me in right away and couldn’t get enough of Ember and Josh. Hands up to Josh who knew how to woo Ember when she needed it the most but didn’t want to admit it. Josh really is swoonworthy and beyond delish!

LoveLines by S. Walden

This is another book I connected with on a personal level. This book was about two flawed characters who found each other and fit together perfectly.  I loved S. Walden’s writing and this book was hysterical, beyond HOT, and made me want to squeal at times.
